Mekeni Pinoy's Pride
About This Spot
Stepping into Mekeni Pinoy's Pride feels like finding a warm nook tucked into the busy stretch of Pioneer Boulevard — a place where the lively rhythms of Filipino comfort food unfold in a casual and approachable way. The moment you walk in, there’s a sense of quiet community, a steady, welcoming pulse that invites you to settle in and savor the flavors and stories behind each plate.
The atmosphere balances a relaxed neighborhood eatery vibe with a touch of festive spirit, where the bustle isn’t rushed but carries a gentle energy. It's the kind of spot where conversations flow easily, tables keep turning with friendly servers who know their way around the menu but aren’t hurried, and the aromas of garlic, vinegar, and fresh herbs linger in the air, setting the scene for a genuine culinary experience.
Mekeni Pinoy’s Pride embraces the richness of Filipino cuisine with dishes that feel personal — the kind you imagine sharing around a family table. Whether it’s the sizzle of sisig on a hot plate, the delicate crisp of lumpia, or the soulful warmth of a hearty kare-kare, each bite carries the weight of tradition with a comforting familiarity. The offerings extend beyond the classic, inviting exploration through seafood ceviches or the bright freshness of ensaladang talong, always with an eye towards that perfect balance between bold flavors and homegrown subtlety.
Part of the charm lies in the lived-in feeling of this neighborhood gem — people drawn to it not just for the food but for moments of connection, whether it’s a leisurely breakfast buffet that sets a slower pace for the day or a casual dinner catching up with friends and family. It’s a place that rewards patience, where the occasional wait feels like part of the experience as dishes arrive thoughtfully prepared, and the space hums with the soft soundtrack of shared meals and quiet joy.
Parking may require a little extra patience, but once inside, Mekeni Pinoy’s Pride unfolds as a gentle invitation to pause, explore familiar tastes anew, and find comfort in the vibrant, unpretentious heart of Filipino culture.

The wife was craving Filipino food so we ended up trying the recently opened Filipino Restaurant. The server Robert was so kind in having us seated anywhere cause there were no customers since it’s only 4:45 pm on a Thursday afternoon. We ordered the large Palabok (combination of pork meat and sea food with crushed pork skin on top thentossed on a skillet) for both of us and an appetizer, Tokwa’t Baboy (lightly fried tofu and pork in a special soy sauce and lemon and garlic). The atmosphere is quiet and service was excellent from Robert. Our orders came in fast and was really tasty. The pork skin on the tokwa’t baboy was really crunchy.

The restaurant at first glance was nice. The service was super slow. Once they seated us they handed us menus but no explanations and dashed off. We couldn't figure out who our actual server was because we had different people approach our table. When we finally got our food order the portions were small disappointing - none of them came with rice! We had to order rice a la cart! Another eating delay..... I can say the food was good and presented nicely, but the process don't match the experience.

Determined to try their filipino breakfast buffet, we woke up at 6:30am to get ready lol. It took us a bit more than 2 hours to get there. I like the arrangement and the ambiance of their breakfast buffet. Yet I think there should be more food choices. And the taste of the foods have to be better. I mean more delicious. This restaurant has potential. The decor and the setting of this restaurant is very classy and elegant. If they had the service and the food taste matched or at par with the restaurant decor, it would be a perfect combo. My family have been here for dinner a few times. It was our first breakfast at Mekeni. We hope to see better outcomes next time we visit Mekeni.

Good thing it wasn't crowded. Food was awesome. Love the sinuglaw, its pork belly mix with tuna ceviche. Service is awesome by austin and Bea. Great service. They have buffet every Wednesday 4 to 8 pm. Price is very reasonable.
